Ayr GOLD cup meeting
3.20
This is more my cup of tea and the type of race I excel in as all you guys know, the harder the more impossible the better I do, mainly because I think the races like this are truly run affairs and that means the form comes to the top,
Courageous has a lot of weight and might find the trip on the sharp side, and the same can be said about Arganil who looks as he gets older that 6f would be his best trip, he seems to have lost a bit of his early speed, the Paul Midgley stable is in tremendous form but it was a weakly run race Haajes won at Doncaster and he will struggle to follow up today with his penalty, Oldjoesaid was 7 lengths behind Haajes that day so has it all to do, both Indian Trail and Invincible Lad are knocking on the door but are drawn high which looks like it might be a disadvantage today, Above the Stars is short in the betting because of connections, not her form which does not look up to winning this, Rylee Mooch would be my choice of those drawn high but hopefully I have got it right and we need a low draw, I have narrowed it down to just three runners that I think have the best chance of winning, the three are the consistent Crimson Know with capable Julie Burke taking 5lbs off her back but the trainer is woefully out of form, Sleepy Blue Ocean who again is admirably consistent and the likely fast pace will suit, but he is 3lbs out of the handicap and the selection which is Magical Macey who is drawn well will like the track and the going and if you discount the odd poor run would be about half the current price of 38.0 so is excellent value
Magical Macey

Another wide open race and we should have learnt from the previous race what effects the draw has today, but be wary at Ayr it can appear that one side is much the best then in the next race the other side is best, so be careful, so just the 25 runners in this so should be a fairly straight forward task to find the winner …..I wish, Mon Brav is running way below form at present so best watched, Esprit de Midas has good back form and came near to that mark last time on only his third run for sprint king Dandy Nichols and he could find yet more improvement for this trainer so respected, looks too short a trip for Karaka Jack who has been running over further lately, Klynch and Layla’s Hero should come out on top of those drawn high but if I am right about the draw they won’t get into the race, My Gacho is interesting now dropped back in trip, but once again I have narrowed it down to just five runners that I think have a chance of winning this, they are Ursula who looks to be peaking at the right time you can forget her two runs on the soft she does not like it and she has the cheekpieces on for the first time, the three Richard Fahey runners Coolmix, Sunrise Safari and Jeannie Galloway, and Amenable, Sunrise Safari is consistent and will get the strong pace he needs, Amenable who bounced back to form last time, but will he repeat it, Jeannie Galloway the filly is in form but the worry is the shorter trip, she has looked as if she needed further rather than shorter and even though it will be a strongly run race I worry she might not get there and the selection stablemate Coolmix even though he was behind Jeannie Galloway last time ,I think that race came too quick and is best ignored, he is perfectly drawn to blast out and make the running he stays seven furlongs so should be able to go a blistering pace and 22.0 looks too big he comes out around 12.0 on my tissue

Doncaster St ledger meeting
4.10 Doncaster
Remember as yesterday this race is 6.5 furlongs and that half furlong does make all the difference as it did yesterday, think that they are being forced to run Below Zero today because he goes up 6lbs from tomorrow, he has too much weight, he was able to dominate and set is own slow pace on his last two victories but up against these 6 furlong specialists I doubt he will be able to do that, Kanaf gets too far behind and then needs things to drop just right, he often looks like he could do better but doesn’t, Docofthebay has never won over this trip so not for me, Noble Citizen will struggle to confirm Ascot form with Lutine Belle on these revised terms and it is interesting that Richard Hughes is booked for Lutine Bell who needs holding up until the very last minute, Grissom will struggle to win this, he needs a stiff 6 furlongs or 7 furlongs to show his best and he has neither today, Fathsta is very hard to win with and has not been running at his best lately, have narrowed this down to just three that I think can win this they are Lutine Bell with Richard Hughes on board but he needs everything to fall just right for him, Fireback with visor fitted for the first time, he is very consistent and if the visor helps him find a bit more he would have a chance but the selection is Sirius Prospect, he runs well after a break like today he was impressive when beating Sluggsy Morant at Windsor and his last disappointing run might have come too quick and at around 40.0 he looks too big, he comes out around 14.0 on my tissue
